Mariana Golumbeanu

Dr. Mariana Golumbeanu is a senior scientist with expertise in integrated coastal zone management. Holds an MSc in Sustainable Coastal Development and a PhD in Geography and Environmental Protection from the University of Bucharest, Romania. She is involved in different research themes related to integrated coastal zone management, marine planning applications, and anthropogenic pressures in the coastal area. She represents the National Focal Point for the Advisory Group on the Development of Common Methodologies for Integrated Coastal Zone Management at the Black Sea Commission, Istanbul, Turkey; the National Reference Centre (NRC) of the of the European Environmental Agency; and is a member of the Permanent Technical Secretariat of the National Committee for Coastal Zone. She is vice president of the Balkan Environmental Association and coordinates the activities within the International Secretariat of BENA for Southeastern Europe.
