Impressive figures and the conclusion of the 6th International Congress on Rural Tourism

In the wonderful atmosphere and rural beauty of Split-Dalmatia County, the 6th International Congress on Rural Tourism was concluded. From April 10-13, Le Meridien Lav hotel hosted more than 300 Congress participants from 28 countries. This Congress was not just a gathering of words and thoughts, but an inspiring and productive event that strengthened the international community of rural tourism and opened new perspectives and opportunities for the progress of this sector.

On the stage of the Le Meridien Lav hotel, recognized experts, scientists, and panelists took turns selflessly sharing their knowledge and experiences that confirm that rural tourism is sustainable, digital, and inclusive, as the slogan of this year's Congress reads. Awards were also given to the best young farmers in 2024. Along with presentations of autochthonous products of Croatian culture and heritage, the unique hands of laborers, and the "flame that burns" in their hearts, the Congress was not only a journey through geographical locations, but a journey through the hearts of people, connecting us with our roots and true heritage in a different, innovative way.

"Always when there is a Congress, on the one hand, there is adrenaline in the preparation itself and the first days, and when it ends there is some kind of sadness, a part of you disappears, we practically prepared it for a year. But we are very satisfied, we see smiling faces and that is the most important thing. On behalf of the 13 Co-organizers, I thank everyone who participated, who came to Croatia, that is, Podstrana, and we hope for cooperation in future projects as well," said Dijana Katica, president of the Congress Organizing Committee.

In addition to the time, they spent in the halls of the Le Meridien Lav hotel, visits to the natural beauties of the Split-Dalmatia County were an indispensable part of the Congress. Thus, the participants enjoyed trips to Sinj, Split, and Brač. Empowered by new ideas, friendships, and memories, we continue the authentic journey of rural tourism, aware that every step forward is a step towards the preservation, development, and flourishing of the beautiful world of rural tourism.
