Goran Ogurlić
Goran Ogurlić has been the Editor-in-Chief of Jutarnji list since 2015, with his mandate confirmed by the newsroom in three consecutive elections — in 2015, 2019, and 2023. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2015, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Večernji list. He has been active in journalism since the late 1980s, when he edited the Rijeka youth newspaper Val. In 1990, he joined RiTelefax, the first private daily newspaper in Croatia, as Assistant Editor-in-Chief. He participated in the Croatian War of Independence from 1992 to 1994 and in Operation Storm in 1995. During the 1990s, he was Editor-in-Chief of the weekly Kronika (1994) and Assistant Editor-in-Chief of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar Dnevnik (1996), and also edited magazine editions of Novi list such as Tribina and Feniks. He contributed to Novi list, Slobodna Dalmacija, Globus, and Nedjeljna Dalmacija. In 1998, he was part of the team that launched Jutarnji list, where he led the desk from its first issue. From 2001, he held the roles of Assistant and Deputy Editor-in-Chief in the same newsroom. His career has thus been spent almost entirely in Croatia’s two largest daily newsrooms—from the founding of one to holding top editorial positions in both.
